PGA TOUR, Executive Vice President of Brand Communications

With the PGA TOUR since February 2007, Laura Neal currently serves as Executive Vice President of Brand Communications, which encompasses oversight and strategic integration of Communications, Content, Publicity, Creative and Advertising Strategy for the world’s preeminent professional golf league.  She is the youngest member – and one of three women – who make upthe TOUR’s Commissioner’s Committee, which helps shape the strategic direction of the organization.  She was an instrumental voice as the TOUR navigated the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent, unprecedented shutdown (the TOUR was the first sports organization to return to competition in June 2022).

 Laura is responsible for developing and implementing all messaging – internal and external – that has the potential to reach the TOUR’s fans and further grow and diversify its global fanbase. She leads the cross-functional team thatcreates and implements content to elevate the TOUR’s world-class athletes, tournaments and programs.  

 Laura began her career in golf at the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) as a media relations coordinator in April 1998.  Laura moved through the ranks at the LPGA from intern to senior director of concept development, serving as the association’s “in-house publicity” leader to secure high-profile player appearances and media placements. Laura won the 2004 Golf Writers Association of America award for special projects with her four-day series chronicling Annika Sorenstam’s historic journey at the PGA TOUR’s Bank of America Colonial (first LPGA employee to receive such an award). 

Laura was named to Golf Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2010; in 2018, she was named as one of the “Top Women in PR” by PR News, and in 2019, she was one of 40 women selected by Sports Business Journal for its ninth annual class of “Game Changers.”    

 Laura graduated from Flagler College (St. Augustine, Florida) Magna Cum Laude in April 1998 with a degree in Sport Management and Communications/Public Relations. She received the 2005 Young Alumni Achievement Award from Flagler College and was honored as one of 50 “Alumni of Distinction” as part of Flagler’s 50th Anniversary in 2019.  

 Laura is from Dunnellon, Florida, where her parents, Tim and Jeanne Neal,owned and operated Lombardo’s Restaurant for 36 years; Laura grew up waiting tables, working as hostess and making pizzas. She lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and married Billy Schroder in 2014.  Billy also works for the PGA TOUR, as Vice-President of International Governance. They have one daughter, Halyard (Haly) Jean (7).  

Laura is a member of the Business Advisory Board at Flagler College and has served on the board of The Truth Republic (a faith-based organization that seeks to make Jesus known by equipping and empowering women to fulfill their calling) and 100 Golf (a one-day “golf marathon” that raises money to improve and transform the lives of underserved children and families).  She also volunteers for Lasagna Love – a global nonprofit and grassroots movement that aims to positively impact communities by connecting neighbors with neighbors through homemade meal delivery.
