How did you meet?
We met working at a Covid testing site here in Jax. I was working as an RN and he was activated with the national guard. I thought he was super cute but really only noticed his well manicured eyebrows because we were always masked. Haha.
How did he propose?
One of our favorite date nights is going out for a good steak - on a usual date night over dinner he referenced RENT (my favorite musical of all time) telling me how many minutes we’d already spent together and asked me if I would marry him.
What is your love story?
We were long distance the first year we were together - him in Miami and me here. We both traveled back and forth on weekends we didn’t have kids so we could spend time together. I didn’t think I’d find someone so soon after my divorce, and definitely not someone so young, but ya know…that’s how it goes right?
Tell me about wedding planning:
We were planning to have a big wedding in the spring but as I started planning I was so turned off by this idea that we had to have this big thing for other people. We decided about a month before our wedding that we would get married in our yard with family and a few close friends. The ugly sweater theme was my dad’s idea haha 😂. As most weddings do - we experienced a few last minute hang ups and had to make some fast changes because it was, of course, the week that southwest cancels thousands of flights and several friends and our officiant were unable to make it!
I was so nervous about having to walk down the aisle and asked Orlando if he would walk with me - he always makes me feel safe and I knew it would be perfect to have him by my side as we started our ceremony. I wish all of our friends and family could’ve made it, but we got to FaceTime in the ones who couldn’t - definitely grateful for technology!

Everything else was random stores and homemade :)
